Each time this year that I've had the pleasure of running into Alex Glow and/or Jorvon Moss and their wonderful companion robots, I've been re-energized to start building my own. After Bay Area Maker Faire, I returned home and drew the first sketch of what I hoped would become my first companion bot. After Hackaday Superconference, I started doing some CAD.
The concept behind nudge is that he's ergonomically designed to sit on my shoulder. Although he's obviously snake-like, his "snakeishness" comes second to the overall idea that he should be able to fold down into a pauldron when not needed.
The name "nudge" comes from the project goal of having him raise up and nudge my head to alert me to push notifications on my smartphone.
