Analog Binary Infinity Mirror Clock

Using an infinity mirror illusion as "hands," construct a binary clock that moves like a normal, analog clock.

The original plan was to create an analog binary clock, but I had no idea how to do it.  To make it like a regular clock, I would have needed to have 11 hands, which didn't seem doable.  A loooong while later, I had the inspiration to use Dotstars or Neopixels to represent the hands, and the infinity mirror effect would make the LEDs appear to be lines, further adding to the hand effect.

  • Bug Squashing!

    Squashed some bugs, specifically, I fixed the pixel flashing when the hand moves to the next pixel, I fixed the hands jumping around randomly (unsigned long overflow), and I added some color (see the latest uploaded video).

    Still need to wrap up the hardware stuff, but I can't get to it until next week (have to help the kids with their pinewood derby cars).

    I have a little bit of code left to debug.  I also need to glue the rings to the mirror and the LED strips to the rings.  I also need to make the top mirror.  The project picture shows what it will look like minus the top mirror.  I have a 3d printed frame in place to hold the rings in the correct position for gluing.

    Progress!  All the electrical work is done.  Still need to make the top mirror (In the photos, the protective film is still on), finish up the clock code, and mount the rings holding the LEDs.
