So I needed to do a great deal of research on this one. I have found some AC to DC converters that are both high quality , within budget and are ultra light. 250 gram, less than 1/4 the weight of the nearest competitor I was looking and and supports voltages up to 240 volts meaning I could reduce the gauge of the tether and further reduce the weight.

To get 1000 watts which is more likely what I would go for I would run two in parallel. Redundancy is important for reliability. I will be able to get these if and when I get a boot strap award to go forward with the project, which would be really nice because I already have $800 of my own money into this project. #BrokeInventor

This converter looks like a very light weight option, but it's not a complete AC to DC converter.  It needs a heat-sink or external frame capable of dissipating up to 50Watts of heat, and needs some rather large external capacitors for the buss and output voltages.  Probably good to include the data-sheet input RF filter as well since you're doing radio.
