April 2021 Update:

The kids working with this have declared the 3 by 3 matrix display as 'boring'.

So I've had a couple of HD versions built that now have a 5 by 5 LED matrix. Also the new version now has an extra RTC and a barometric pressure sensor.

Let's see what they think of it.
