    We continued constructing the outer box. The frame had already been set up last week, so we began drawing laser-cutting diagrams(used acrylic board) for the box and plate holder. To draw the diagram, 2 of us measured the framework, confirmed the coordinates of screw holes. The other 2 modeled the plate holder.

    We began constructing the outer frame of the plate reader. Referencing the instruction book, we put together the T-shape aluminum frame and used Inkscape to draw diagram for the outer box.

    We got our circuit boards we designed back , and we used high temperature soldering iron along with soldering tin to weld pins, resistance, etc. onto our boards. Now we saved ourselves efforts for connecting the boards ! We no longer need those crazy wires and tiny step motor driver.

    We also learned to use Inkscape to draw laser-cutter diagrams. Red represents cutting through the line; blue represents vector engrave, and black represents raster engrave.

    We continued drawing circuit diagram, correcting some mistakes, converting it to PCB, and struggling with arranging different parts to achieve 1000% automatic wiring.

    We drew circuit diagram using 立创 EDA.

    We referenced the TMC2209 diagram and searched the online shopping mall for needed materials ( resistance, capacitance, etc.)

    We finished connecting the boards. First, we revisited the data sheets and went over it carefully, knowing each pin's specific meaning and functions. Details are summarized as follows:

    • Wires: Black: A1; Green: A2; Red: B1; Blue: B2
    • Multimeter:If 2 pins short-circuited, the multimeter will beep.
    • Go to official websites, find the model and its design drawings.
      • The little silver hump on the chip correspond to different pins
      • Only 1 of the 2 PDN is working (use multimeter to test)
      • Pin assignments:
        • GND: Ground
        • VDD:chip's voltage input,connect to Seeduino 5V
        • STEP & DIR :used by Seeduino to send signals to step motor driver
    • Go to find the datasheet and figure out the assignments of other pins 
      • Pin assignments
        • CLK: Connect to GND to start the internal clock of the chip
        • ENN: Enable Not
        • EN: Enable
        • MS1/MS2:  Determine mircostep configuration (1/0  1/1  0/0  0/1)
        • DIAG: Diagnostic: detect errors
        • VS: Motor Supply Voltage: 9V
      • LowGNDHigh5V

    After connecting the boards, we tested it by connecting it to computer, coded on Arduino, and tried to see if our motor was functioning.

    We wrote different codes to direct the motor's motion.

        - Switching direction automatically

        - Switching direction only when "switch" is turned on ( we designated that low power pin is OFF and high power pin is ON)

    We got Seeduino board, motor, step motor driver, and a bunch of wires, and we researched to find each product's design drawing and data sheet. Due to a lack of knowledge about different pins' functions and crisscrossing wires, we made many mistakes without noticing.

    We learned how to use 360 Fusion to built 3D model for 3D printing. We built a "pristine" Dyson fan, designing fan’s turbine and its “head”.

    motor A controls motion of motor B along the x-axis, while motor B control the plate holder's motion on the y-axis
