The device was intended to be helmet mounted, and to use Wi-Fi to notify the software part of the system about detected point. There are two connections from the device to the fencing hardware, one to the foil and another one to the suit (mask). Inside of the device, there is a battery, some LED's and a buzzer. LED's are bi-color so each contender can be assigned with its own color. When the point has been detected, LED's start to flash and buzzer becomes active. PCB was designed as a flex-rigid PCB, so that LED's could be mounted on the side of the device.
