Yes it is 6mm laser-cut black MDF. I'm buying it with the color applied, I can check how they color it in the factory if you wish :)
As for the finishing, you can apply any kind of wood varnish, so the end result can vary.

Looks good. What kind of material is that? Lasered MDF? And stained with what? :)
