Ozirma is an infrared spectrometer that can help to reduce plastic waste.
Ozirma uses similar technologies found in big recycling factories, but scaled down to fit with fablab capabilities: 3D printing and laser cutting.

We, Mejdi and Vivien, optical and electronic engineers, are working together to develop this tool. It is designed with cost in mind, to fit with capabilities of fablabs, and small factories.
A lot of work has been done with initiatives such as Precious Plastic, but they are missing one piece of hardware: the right tool to sort waste.

Ozirma will be able to detect plastics from various types: PE, PP, etc, and allow a better sorting.
