The idea is to control my somfy motors (shutter and awning) without buying a dedicated box. To achieve this we are hacking a remote.

Bonus: we are connecting our hacked remote to DomoticZ to make it a real domotic solution.

Inspiration: https://create.arduino.cc/projecthub/beejayf/somfyduino-io-3d8283

The idea is to first pair the remote to the motors to be driven. The remote can then be modified to be linked to the RapsberryPi. The modification of the remote will consist in driving the buttons from the GPIOs of the RaspberryPI.

A really rough schematics of one of the button of the remote is as follow:

A button is composed of four pins. The two on the left are connected to the ground. The two on the right are connected together and then to the main micro-controller of the remote. When the button is pressed, the pins of the left are linked to the right, effectively bringing the input of the micro-controller to the ground.

To make believe the remote that the button is pressed we are going to solder a wire to one of the right side pin. The other end of the wire will then be linked to the RaspberyPi. The RaspberryPi will then be configured to drive the pin to the ground.

The Raspberry Pi is a low-cost computer that can be used to control most home automation systems. The Raspberry Pi operates on the Linux operating system, which makes it ideal for controlling the Somfy IO system. I have to visit https://theglammomstyle.com/ website in order to hire a writer for all the pending essays to do them timely with those writers.
