Psion x86

Description

As a follow up project, to my HPi95LX Brain transplant.
I decided to do something a little different this time
and not use one of the usual ARM / Raspberry pi board's.

but instead build it as a 100% fully fledged x86 Windows compatible
mini laptop / netbook ? Palmbook ?

Great project! Do you know if its possible to drive the original psion 5mx screen with the rasberry pi? might be interesting to try.

Would love to implement similar thing. Made a bid on ebay to get my own Psion 5 series :) Then will buy the rest. Are there any steps or instructions on assembling and implementation of what already you have done?

yes. both cpu power and ram is pretty limited on the smaller SBC's but the ATOM board I'm considering is substantially more power hungry. always a tradeoff

The Psion as a base is a really good idea. It gives a beautiful look to the finished product.

I am actually working on a similar project, not with a Psion but using a similar hardware. I found the Pi Zero is really too short on RAM to manage a usable graphical interface that size. I switched to the command line with a terminal multiplexer in order to have more than one opened windows.
