Description

I had my 3 year old niece visiting for Christmas. On Christmas morning I decided to make a wooden Christmas tree with adressable LEDs that we could paint together.

Components

1 × 5mm plywood
1 × Addressable LED strip WS2812 / neopixel
1 × Arduino I used an UNO but others will be fine aswell
1 × Dupont wires To solder to the LED strip or to plug in to the LED strip connector

Print a Christmas tree

Search the internet for a nice looking Christmas tree and print it at the desired size (I used 2 pieces of A4 paper).

Cut out the Christmas tree

Cut the image of the Christmas tree around the outline.

Draw the Christmas tree on to the wood

Tape the Christmas tree to the wood and than trace the outline of the Christmas tree with a pencil on to the wood.
