First thing first, I need to get the mechaduino programmed and calibrated. This was done easily by following the instructions from Tropical Labs' project page. Second microstep ;) , get it to work with a stepper motor. Since on my printer, the z-axis motor is resting on the bottom frame, I need to find a thinner motor and have it work with the Mechaduino. What a surprise, I have 5 'thin' stepper motors from an ST development kit. Problem is, it did not work on the first try using a 12V 1A wall wart and the mechaduino connected to the laptop... I need to try using a decent 12V power supply. So in the coming days, I will retry with an ATX power supply.

Once this is working, I need to mount the mechaduino to the stepper and enable closed loop control. This should also be straightforward using Tropical Labs' instructions. I'll keep you posted.
