I wanted to give my old headphones a second life, to do this I ordered a F-3188 Bluetooth module with the CSR8645 chip for $5, a small lithium battery, charging controller, and several buttons.
  • 1 × Technics RP-DH1200 Headphones I have used them since 2005!
  • 1 × F-3188 Bluetooth module with CSR8645 chip
  • 1 × TP4056 Lithium battery charging module with Micro-USB
  • 1 × 3.7 V 220 mAh 501240 Lithium battery
  • 1 × Self-lock switch button ON/OFF

That's a great idea and it even looks cooler than the original. How's the battery life and latency? Is the quality of sound the same or different? I was thinking about doing the same thing to my Razer Krakens.

The battery life is good, I don't have exact numbers, maybe a week with 1 hour playback per day. And I am not an audiophile, so did not noticed any difference in the sound quality (vs. the wire). Sometimes it is crackling or loses connection, but in general everything is fine for this price. Also it can be connected to 2 devices simultaneously (e.g. to the phone and to the tablet). BTW, the CSR8645 is almost 10 years old, probably there are more modern modules.
