The need for an Arduino Nano with 3.3V and faster processor came up, and being a hacker the Arduino Nano Zero was born. Has the same pinout as the Arduino Nano with exception that the SAMD21 processor only had 5 analog inputs, thus the other two analog input pins are GPIOs connected to the I2C peripheral. Additionally with the extra pins on the SAMD21 the SPI programming header on the Arduino Nano is an independent SPI pins to allow more flexibility and functionality.
