Well I appear to have it running and getting some readings. I want to post some spectrums, where is the correct place to post?

I don't have a forum or something link that, but I think GitHub Discussions would be a good place: https://github.com/Open-Gamma-Project/Open-Gamma-Detector/discussions

I have the 30035 chip and I am ready to start assembly. I plan on putting 4 small pads of copper tape on a small piece of proto board and solder to the tape for stability and a way to bring the wires out.. On the optional SiPM board there are 2 resistors and 2 caps, are these only for power decoupling and are they necessary? With engineering school over 50 years ago things are pretty rusty in the old brain box but I am confident I can complete this project. Thanks for all the help.

Sounds good! You don't need the additional passive components. It'll work just fine if you keep all the connections as short as possible.

Now I am searching for the MICROFC-60035-SMT-TR chip and everyone is out of stock. I have found the MICROFC-30035-SMT-TR1 which is essentially the same chip that is 3mm instead of 6mm. Has anybody tried this chip?

Yeah, unfortunately they sold out just a week ago or so. I didn't test the MICROFC-30035-SMT-TR1, but it's more or less completely identical except for the smaller size. Would be interested too if anyone tried it out, pretty confident it would work.

Thanks for the answer, I will investigate the options.

I have found all the parts except the SiPM carrier board. It would rather expensive to have a 1 of made. Any thoughts, or am I just being thick headed?

You don't need it, that's why it's optional. If you want to, you can solder wires directly to the SiPM, but keep in mind that can be a bit tricky. The pins are pretty small after all, but it's definitely possible.

Otherwise, I can recommend you AISLER or JLCPCB, if you're looking for the cheapest PCBs out there.
