This is my recent build, built specifically for the Cyberdeck contest.
For the screen I'm using the front of a broken Auritone 5.5 inch tv that was rescued from the rubbish and a modern screen fitted inside. I have gutted the remains of the old TV set and kept the outer shell for another build.
The initial idea was to house it in a carry case, also discarded and rescued but I found that space was really tight and although I could work around this, it was easier to build the housing myself from wood and 3d printed brackets. A shame really, as the keyboard fitted perfectly in the old case, as you can see from one of the photographs.
Inside there is a Raspberry Pi inside running it and I'm using it to manage a couple of my projects: producing a community based telephone network and more recently, writing an automated train announcement system.
