I want to design and build two computers/devices that communicate with each other via audio tones or notes. The tones or notes are coded each to a single letter of the English alphabet and all the 10 basic numbers 0 - 9, also necessary grammar marks, as may be needed, and any other necessary tones. The computers/devices will not speak words as we know words, but in a series of tones spelling the words, and will reference a built in dictionary.
So "I am a computer." would be spoken in tones using the tones representing each of the letters in each word, and the period or stop.
