A project where I'm looking to create group of bot's that use a certain algorithm to attract more bots to their group. Different groups would then try to get into other groups to try to convince certain bots to leave their current group and join the other.

After this I would try to put new bot's in it that can destroy or alter the whole group or groups. Like a virus that jumps on one to the other.

I'm talking a software based environment that can be implemented in arduino,esp8266, mqtt etc..
The actual build would be something physical. As in an installation.

I'm mostly searching for collaboration and/or help with building such an environment. Or general tips in creating such things are very helpful.
