When testing infrared remotes, sometimes you just want a quick test without having to plug the Decoder into the USB port, install drivers, setup the terminal, etc. This item is all about keeping it simple. WHY do you want to know your remotes commands? Backing up this data is a good idea if the remote were to become inoperable or lost. By knowing the command and the device id for a remote, you can use this data to program other re-programmable universal remotes.

There are two modes, Basic and Advanced mode. In Basic mode just the necessary commands are displayed. In Advanced mode, you get all the data. Simply switch modes by installing the jumper.

Using the Decoder is easy, just toggle through the protocol selections, select the one you want and aim your remote at the Decoder. The data will be displayed on the miniature OLED display.

This Decoder works with the following protocols: NEC1 (38KHz), NEC2 (38KHz), REC80 (56 KHz, most cable boxes), Sony12 (40KHz), RECS80 (38 KHz), DISH (56 KHz), RC5 (36 KHz), and RC6 (36 KHz).
