A new video showing a detailed assembly of a split-ring planetary gearbox for the RR1 robotic arm. The gearboxes shown in the video are going to be part of RR1 rev. 3, at the being under construction. I focus on the correct gear teeth alignment so that the gear box operates smoothly with no clicking. Some mathematics behind is mentioned. Mathematics is absolutely necessary for proper assembly.

Impressive as always. I do wonder though, have you looked into using a capstan drive for part of the robot? HaD recently had an article on a robot dog that uses them: https://hackaday.com/tag/capstan-drive/
