A project log for GBAA: Game Boy Advance Arduino

An Arduino- based prototyping handheld housed in a GBA case

Nextion Touchscreens. It appears that Chinese sellers are very precious of their Nextion stock. So much so that, even when a customer pays for them, they won't send them!

Both sellers on Ebay and AliExpress have left me screenless and refundless too.

I've tried again, but this time with a UK-based seller. Much more expensive, but surely more reliable.

We shall wait and see!

Once the screen arrives I'll be test fitting it in my GBA case. Being 2.8" it should fit the hole nicely; it's more the depth of the board that may be the issue. I may have to cut out some of the cartridge slot assembly to make it fit.

Then it's a waiting game to see if my Nodemcu boards arrive. While waiting for those I'll be working on fitting the Pro Micro slave and breaking out it's pins, ready for the Nodemcu to drop in when it arrives :-)

Aliexpress have offered to refund me on behalf of their troublesome seller.

How nice of them! :-)

@K.C. Lee Yeah i was given a tracking Number, but the China post tracking never worked, and it never reached the UK to track. The seller said it had been returned undelivered to their warehouse and they reshipped it. All lies, I fear.

The EBay seller had the gaul to request an extra payment of $5 to resend it with a tracking number and never did.

I had a similar experience on Aliexpress once. Curiously enough, the package suddenly arrived after six months.

Unfortunately it appears both sellers are seasoned in the art of fleecing customers; both kept in touch and promised re-shipping the screens that were allegedly 'lost in transit' etc, and as soon as the buyer protection period had passed just stopped communicating. Elevated with Aliexpress, who emailed them on my behalf (ignored), and Ebay have no option of elevating outside of this 30 day window. Grrrr.

Aliexpress supposedly require the sellers to have tracking for orders > $5.  (I have seen some of the sellers suggested splitting orders to fall under this for "Free shipping".)

Don't know about UK, but the shipping time for Canada these days is now 2-3 months since last Oct due to Canada custom and Canada Post lackies.  I have let some of the small orders protections expired but I have not lost a package.  On the other hand, I only order from stores that have been in business for 2 years or more.

I'm currently saving up for a flight to Shenzhen.

I'm going to go Liam Neeson on them.
