MCU ready for testing

A project log for sensor node

a learning project to gain experience with RF design and the ARM Cortex M0+ platform

I just finished soldering the EFM32ZG222 and the SWD connector on the board. From my understanding, I would be better to also place the decoupling capacitors, but I think I might try and flash some test program on the MCU as it is right now. The soldering process actually went about as smooth as I hoped it would. Aligning the chip was a bit tricky, but I expected as much. Now, I am looking forward to actually using the chip.

I did the same thing, I wasn't sure myself until I ran a simple TTL/delay routine just to make sure the AD7667 was processing commands.

I hope it works out good for you, I know aligning the AD7667 on my Schmart board was very tricky, but I used a very unconventional method, Bondic (a professional type UV light setting material,) I applied a little drop to each open inside corner, and it keeps it in place as strong as solder.

Thanks for the hint. I will keep it in mind for the next attempts. My initial electric testing seemed to indicate that the connections were fine. However, as long as I haven't tried to communicate with the chip, I can't be sure.
