With university now finished, I can now spare some time to actually get this done. There's no real new changes to the concept as yet, work will restart on the CAD drawings pretty soon, I have looked at the possibility of using a company such as EasyEDA or PCBWay to produce the models, price not withstanding of course, this is not an optimal solution to my problem. To that end, it appears as if I'm in the market for a new 3d printer!
