This was a research project me and a group decided to build in our junior year. The main goal being to recreate the NE555 IC with discrete components. The main approach was to do this while adding additional controls and visualizations to better show the operation of the chip from the lowest level.
My main responsibility was the design of the NE555 circuitry to ensure correct operation - along with the corresponding PCB design. One feature is the separation of components into their respective high level component block, which resulted in a PCB that also displays a block diagram for the chips circuitry and how they interact.
