First, we decided to work on the inside part of the box by coding the arduino card (green one) with the photosensor. When the box is open and the light comes in, the servo is spinning.
When we suceed in this first step we did the other part, the oustide, to open the box thanks to a captor. it was more difficult than the first monture. the servo was spinning even if we didn't activte the captor.
When we fixed this problem, we tried to assembly our futur project in a cardboard box for our prototype and think about how we are going to make it proprely for the final design. the spinning dancor is in the middle of the box and the captor on the right side of the box.
When we juged that the prototype was good, we made a wooden box on boxes.py for a better design.
At the begenning we wanted to open the box mechanically but it would take to much time so the teacher advice us to use a servo to open it without using it directly on the lid. We encouter a lot of problems for this part. To open the lid with the servo we thought about elastic to pull the lid by behind or use cable to wrap aroud the servo but it was a fail.
The last idea we had was the put the servo inside the box and attach on the servo a 90° rod fixed to the lid to push and pull to open and close the box. ignoring why, even if the structure was correct it didn't work. The servo wasn't strong enough to pull the lid so we change for a stronger one but the problem persists.
With the 90° rod we made, we decided to not fix it on the lid but tilt it forward for an opening less than 90° so the cover is simply placed on the rod which, when it turns, will make the cover fall and then push it to open it without tipping the cover too far back. That how our mechanism works.
We try a lot our mechanism to assure that it was working well, and we discover a week before the rendering that the photoresistor was loosing its abilities so we changed it .
For the esthetic part, the dancor will be a 3D printed wolf. we will place him on an origami flowers field.
