SPACEdeck is a simple, 3D-printed clamshell chassis that lets you physically pair a custom smartphone cover (Digital Proto S24U) with a compact wireless keyboard (multi-vendor), giving the utility of a a pocketable workstation, when scaled appropriately for size. The entire shell is made from domestic OTS PLA filament and domestic 'mil-sim-chipless' stainless-steel screws. Any compliance standards implied in previous text is farcical.
Inspired by the simplicity and clean style of the sgordienky chassis, I wanted to add my own spin on the form-factor, by implementing the following features:
- multi-position, 180 degree pivoting display, with reliable, low-tech mechanism
- kick-stand to support display angle, lock device in neutral position, and support the weight of an S24U.
- modular connection points for additional accessories
- joycon compatible, a necessary inclusion to implement our MIL-STD-180-inspired engineering goals.
I want everything to be EASY to print, EASY to assemble, and RELIABLE to use. Also, FUN to use. Human-Centered Design. It's how I do.
Project Published 5/30/25, in an MVP-PROTOTYPE state. Additional Development will occur, and files will be made available to anyone watching the project once I am satisfied with the beta quality and Switch-2 Joycon/Mouse compatibility. <3
Amazing! I've seen that keyboard on a similar build, but can't find the exact model. I want to build it definitely once you're satisfied with the beta. Thanks!
