What is already done

I designed the board in KiCad over the last few months and assembled it recently. It was very tricky to do without any contact with AMD or anyone really in that matter. Currently it runs modified laptop BIOS and everything is okay with the hardware itself. I soldered 2 boards with AMD Ryzen 3 3300U and Ryzen 7 3700U and I am planning to solder 2 more.

Current situation

Now I really want to run coreboot on this design. Then I will be able to make much more advanced versions in the future. I'm not skilled enough in software development to do that myself so if anyone wants to participate in the project, just let me know!

Future of the project

If coreboot will run on this design, then this will be just beginning of the project and maybe it will be possible to make accessible open source x86 platform with good performance and very high flexibility.

Software developers are very important for the future of the project. If you want to try making a BIOS please let me know!

How many layers does your PCB have? I used to work for AMD. Some of our reference designs had 20+ layers.

Firstly, I would like to congratulate you on successfully completing an impossible goal in high-speed PCB design. What an accomplishment the internet has experienced. Have so many questions about how you went about it. What tools did you use to verify and simulate the DDR4 timings as well as all other high-speed signals? Can you give some advice on what you used to learn how to do so? I know FEDEVEL is a good source, so have you taken any of their courses? Also do you plan to provide any of the source files of the hardware project? Thanks.
