The Decisioninator was inspired by the giant Price is Right wheel. Just hit the big red button, give it a spin, and whatever it lands on is what we're having for dinner!
Additionally it has chore mode, date night mode, and streaming service mode.
This is powered by a Raspberry Pi, Flutter, and the Flame game engine. The art was sublimated onto hardboard and cut out with my generic no-brand laser cutter.
Fun fact about this project… I spent over a year building it. I would get frustrated, put it down, then come back to it. Eventually I did finish it, but it sat on a shelf for months waiting for me to actually show it to someone.
Being a geriatric Millennial, I miss the 90’s. There was so much optimism about tech back then. Now? Not so much. It used to be that the dumpster fire was contained to certain corners of the internet. Now it feels like the whole internet is a dumpster fire.
I am both an optimist and a technologist. I remember the joy of trying AOL Instant Messenger for the first time. I remember building my first website out of raw HTML and a TABLE based layout. I remember a time before doomscrolling when we surfed the web.
In my own way I want to bring some of that back. I feel like the world could use a little hope right now.
