Description

Garage133 is a DIY automation system for garage door control and monitoring. It supports a two car garage, and is designed to integrate with Home Assistant. It uses ultrasonic sensors to detect both the door state and car presence. Integrated relays allow for remote door operation. Garage state estimation is performed using Hidden Markov Models (HMMs). The device has a responsive web interface written in Svelte.

The  project includes a custom PCB with a 3D printed case, 3D printed sonar mounts, and C++ firmware. Everything (C++ firmware, OpenSCAD designs, KiCAD design) is published on GitHub with an MIT license.

The most recent update is Garage state estimation in an uncertain world, about how the project now uses HMMs for classifying each side of the garage into states "DOOR OPEN", "CAR PRESENT", and "EMPTY". It also presents the web interface for the device, which is now written in Svelte.
