We chose to design a flower capable of opening and closing automatically. Throughout the project, we developed and tested several protoypes to explore different mechanical solutions. These experiments allowed us to gradually improve our design and ultimately create a final prototype.
Today, we had issues with the material, we found another metal stick without the black part at the bottom, and we found another stepper motor, bigger and faster to make it turn faster and so the petals will be able to open and close also faster.
Today we re did the drawing to make it more realizable and started searching for materials. So, our idea is to create a moving flower. We want to put ideally 5 petals that can open and close thanks to a system. >span class="NormalTextRun ContextualSpellingAndGrammarErrorV2Themed SCXW9021383 BCX0">turnthe stick, then it will create a translation that will allow the petals to open and close.
Today we finished the second prototype with motors.
And then, we tried to decide how to improve it, by changing one movement to another. We are inspired by the worm drive mechanical. So, we are thinking about turning rotation into translation to make the petals open and close.
