So I wanted to learn how to pick locks, but the lock-picking kit was going to take about a month to ship from America to where I am staying. So I looked into alternatives.

### Bobby Pins
The first one I tried was using bobby pins, which are really common around here, but they were just too wide and unwieldy.

### A Trip to the Everything Store
So I looked in the everything store for alternatives. The first thing I looked for was a hacksaw blade, which I did not find, but they had the next best thing: metal rulers. So after buying some scissors for 6 shekels and about 8 shekels worth of rulers (around 4), I went off to my dorm room to make some lockpicks.

### Making the Picks
Once I got back to my dorm, I googled for templates... and then realized I had no printer, so I did my best with what I had. I just traced it over my laptop screen. Next, I went about cutting. This was slightly tricky because I had to make sure not to lacerate myself while cutting, but it was not bad.

I ended up wrapping the handles in masking tape so I wouldn't cut myself on the sharp edges.

### Results
I ended up with one hook and one diamond tool, kind of... they do work to pick locks, though. But I am still very much looking forward to the higher-quality tools.
