Every year, consumers in industrialized countries waste almost as much food as the entire net food production of sub-Saharan Africa (222 million vs. 230 million tons). The wasted food comes mostly from houses where it expired. Expiry of food is a reality and it should not be a problem. It should be easily managed.

In industrialized contries very often the customers buy too many products. The surplus products are trashed, or lead customers to obesity. The problem begins with the customers. They doesn't have the needed knowledge to do a responsible and healthy shopping most of the time.
