Over the last twenty years, energy conservation has always been of great importance to individuals, societies and decision makers around the globe. This project combines Embedded Systems with Machine Learning to create an IoT device which optimizes the power consumption of a household. It will read data from multiple sensors. These sensors detect the state (i.e. ON or OFF) of various appliances (like TV, Fan, Lights). They may also detect the presence of people in a room. These sensors use wireless RF modules to communicate to the main controller (Raspberry Pi). Raspberry Pi will collect data and will use Machine Learning Algorithms to learn and predict the average usage of that appliance in a day. If it finds any appliance which is active outside the average zone, it will notify the user and help minimize the energy consumption.
