Documentation of the process to convert a non functioning analog camera into a modern CCD or CMOS camera. The secondary goal is to make the CCD and CMOS as plug-in modules that can be upgraded.
Components
1×
Canon AE-1 Analog Camera
This is not a required component and can be replaced with any 35mm camera. I do recommend getting cameras that are compatible with modern lenses.
1×
Raspberry Pi Zero
Programmable micro computer
1×
Web camera
Any USB connection web cam. I'm using a Microsoft HD-5000 Lifecam that has been in a box of spare parts.
Gave the camera a once-over today. Pretty decent find from a curb-side dumping.
The camera seems to be intact and functioning normally. A bit dirty, sure, but possible to clean. The interior looks decent with only a little amount of corrosion in the battery compartment and behind the film cover.
Sadly the flash's foot is broken. I'll keep the components and use it for other projects but it will never be used, as is, with a camera again.
The filter is intact and still in its original packaging. This is a happy accessory to find and I will enjoy using a lot for B/W photography.
