How to Make a DIY Portable Wii

In this tutorial I will be showing you how to make a DIY portable Wii for cheap!

The portable Wii will feature a seven inch LCD screen, a Wii (duh), a 6,000 mAh battery, stereo speakers, a large selection of games, and a cool 3D printed laptop-style case! This project is ongoing, so be sure to check back for updates!
In this tutorial I will be showing you how to install the homebrew channel, CIOS, USBLoader GX, and Nintendont*, take apart the Wii, and how and where to solder the various components.

  • 1 × Wii Preferrably one with Gamecube Controller ports
  • 1 × 12v 6000 mAh TalentCell Battery https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=12v+6000mah+battery
  • 1 × 12v 7" LCD Screen with Driver Board just search "7 inch LCD screen for Raspberry Pi" and you should see a bunch of good screens.
  • 1 × Speakers These are up to you, you can probably find some old ones from some old radios or something
  • 1 × Classic SD Card For storing program files. Most HC and XD cards won't work, so be sure to get a classic SD card
