Visible light communication-based positioning is the use of information encoded in light to locate the position of an object. The research I have conducted into this field has mainly focused on the real world accuracy that this technique is capable of producing and the comparison of different algorithms including some machine learning based algorithms. To conduct this research I have designed and built a full test rig including all the electronics required to encode the information into the light as well as decode it from the light. I expect to publish some academic papers on my findings and the novel techniques I have used by the start of 2018.
