What does an order for a tray of 490 Microchip 328PBs look like?

Once you unbox the courier package, you get another box:

Inside the box, so shiny:

Opening the bag, you get the tray and some desiccant material:

And here are the microcontrollers on the tray:

Is the ATmega328PB really necessary? Could you have used something smaller like a ATtiny85?  I am trying to do something similar to what you are doing by customizing the I2C address.  I have read a few posts where people have suggested using a PIC or ATtiny85 to translate the I2C address.  I am just wondering why you needed the ATmega328PB.
