When we started concepting this badge, we decided we wanted something that was fun, unique, and had use after Defcon.
The badge is based on an Adafruit Trinket and two Neopixel Jewels. Two buttons toggle between 9 color patterns and 4 transition modes.
We wanted to create a badge that anyone could easily hack on. Download the source and plug in a USB cable and people can easily hack on this project and remix it as they see fit!

TRIBBLES ARE THE BEST!!!!!! THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!! Does it make sounds? Are there other mounting options than a necklace? How many can be worn at once? Do the tribbles each have names? Thanks for making people's days brighter with this! CUUUUUTE!!!! :)

I was going to add a speaker, but ran out of funds so had to cut that feature! The clip is actually on the tribble itself and not the lanyard. Some of the original inspiration was actually those fluffy purse charms from places like Fendi (Fendirumi). I had mine clipped to my purse most of the time!
I ran into @emily at the Badge Maker's Meetup and she gave me one of the hand sewn and hand soldered Tibble badges. Here's a photo... so awesome!
