Finding a long duration use, dependable, all terrain UGV mobile platform for development that doesn't take up an entire research budget is difficult.
TIGO (telepresence integrated ground operator) is a line of UGV platforms I've been working on for 5 years, starting from simple RC truck parts into models with larger motors, to finally working from scratch to get the best, dependable version of the platform to date.
The main goal was to envision a stable, super tough, and agile platform so our Skyforge research team could focus on research and labor development experiments without having to build a mobile platform around it each time. TIGO's drive and navigation systems, along with primary sensors, function independent of the payload, though allows the payload systems to connect locally and directly control the rover. The open top platform lets us carry various payloads for environmental, equipment testing, farming and labor experiments, and long duration missions.
