Hackaday is happy to announce our first ever conference taking place in the UK! Get on the waitlist, as tickets have sold out. We will release tickets as folks cancel orders.

The Hackaday Unconference is happening in London at the Culture Space at Canada Water (21 Surrey Quays Road, London, SE16 7AR, United Kingdom). Join Mike Szczys, Editor-in-Chief of Hackaday, Managing Editor Elliot Williams, and Contributing Editor Jenny List for a day of hardware talks, food and drinks, hacks and projects. We also anticipate friends of Hackaday Mike Harrison, Phoenix Perry, Seb Lee-Delisle, James Bruton, Saar Drimer, James Larsson, and more to be in attendance.

What is an Unconference? The best way to jump into what is new and exciting in hardware and technology right now. It's an opportunity for peer-to-peer learning, collaboration, and creativity. Everyone who attends should be ready to stand and deliver a 7 minute talk on something they are interested in right now. This is not something you prepare for and polish for six weeks. We want to know what's on your workbench right now, what new skills you've been teaching yourself, and the groundwork you've been laying for the next big project. Bring your excitement and use it to inspire everyone in the room.

Thank you to DesignSpark, the exclusive sponsor of the Hackaday UK Unconference. DesignSpark, the engineering community of RS Components, provides free tools, resources and inspiration to over 570k engineers globally. It is with their support that we are able to book an amazing venue (the Culture Center at Canada Water) and offer tickets at no cost to bring the Hackaday community together from across the UK.

What to Expect: A day full of camaraderie with new and old friends. Doors open at 12:30pm. The Unconference will be a single track of talks, broken up with time for socializing, and dinner. We will provide tea, coffee, and snacks throughout the day and a meal before the final session.

Everyone should come prepared to present a talk. Props are highly encouraged so bring a hack, a product you've developed, a prototype you've built, or a new part you're excited about. Slides are not mandatory but we encourage you to give it a try -- just limit yourself to about 4 or less due to time constraints and bring any adapters you need for the projection system.

The day revolves around spontaneity. You will find out your speaking time as the person before you is getting started. This is part of what creates the energy and excitement of the event. We do have a few notable speakers lined up but we won't know what they're actually talking about until we get there. This is the 'Un' in Unconference; you are the secret ingredient. We can't wait to see you on 16 September!

How do I join the waitlist? Seems to mention nothing of the sort on the Eventbrite page.

EDIT: It offers waitlist sign-up when you press "register" now.
