Since the AMS1117 regulator is not the best when it comes to the dropout voltage, I've made a little add on board, that will hopefully let me add the AP2112 regulator instead. They can be found on many adafruit boards, so I took that instead. I've ordered 12 boards, but the I'm still ashamed of what I "paid" and the board size :D

FYI AMS1117 does not like ceramic caps as output bulk cap as the part was designed before MLCC so it is ill prepared for low ESR.  They goes into oscillation.  See scope picture in ast part in my build log.

You can either use a small series resistor (1R) with the cap or use tantalum/electrolytic or use AP2112 which works with ceramic caps.

Hey, that's a nice idea - I might make some of those myself! If lucky, I'll find a way to panelize it properly on a 10x10 panel of 0.8mm PCB, too =)

but what would you do with 1000 of these? :D

Send to starving kids in Africa, I guess =D The panel is almost full, it's just that this board is so small that there might be no place for adding tabs to it.
