I've been working on electric vehicle electronics and conversion projects for the past eight years. Just this summer I came upon a some parts from the Tesla Model S. Most interesting of all are the drive units. These guys pump out serious horsepower (450hp+) in a small and very neat package. Problem is making them run outside a Tesla car. Some people have succeeded but these solutions are all closed source , expensive and limited to what Tesla allow the motor and inverter to do. My design replaces the logic board (brain) in the Tesla inverter with an open source system giving full control of the drive unit.
Damien are you there?
