This project was created on 09/25/2017 and last updated 5 years ago.

Description

A 15x15cm alarm clock using two LED rings (97 LEDs in total) to show the time. Beside the blue pendulum, there is a point for the hour (green), minute (red) and second (yellow). The alarm-indicator is in the middle.
Everything is controled by a touch wheel with a button in the middle, like the first iPods.
It's a 12h alarm clock. The brightness can be set by hand or automatically by a photoresistor. There is a night mode, which starts at a certain outer brightness (can be set by the user), where all LEDs are off. There is a optical sensor on top, for a night touch. Whiping your hand above the sensor will start the clock for three seconds at night.
There is a possibility to add a Bluetooth modul to control the clock via your smartphone, but it's not implemented in the firmware right now.

This is quite an old project - perhaps a version could be made using an ESP32 now that they are more readily available!
This could bring in WiFi or Bluetooth right from the start, as well as perhaps a few other features like network synchronized time.

Either way - what a beautiful display. The elegance above all is lovely!
