ESPWear - ESP8266 for Wearables

The ESPWear is a development board for wearables with WiFi using the ESP8266 as core.

Similar projects worth following

This project started to bring Internet connectivity to wearable projects. Its based on LilyPad project but with WiFi SoC.

The first version uses the ESP8266 module, based on ESP07 and ESP12E. After 2 PCB interactions, we decided to add a USB to Serial converter right on the board and change the ESP8266 to the ESP8285.

The ESP8285 is the ESP8266 with 1MB of internal memory, the rest is the same. The USB-serial is the CP2102 from Silicon Labs.

The PCB:

The last PCB version was kindly supported by PCBWay (www.pcbway.com) and they send us without any cost. Thanks!!

The PCB quality is outstanding! The matt black version is just amazing and its one of the most beautiful board that I ever did!

We use PCBWay for commercial projects also.

This version we decided to use the LDO from Texas Instruments, the TLV73333 (https://octopart.com/tlv73333pdbvt-texas+instruments-51080891) providing 300mA. They also have the 500mA and 1A version pin compatible if needed to increase the current.

We are looking for hearing from you!
