The project is not abandoned! Did you know that switching power supplies have a LOT of little design details and they are REALLY fussy about you getting them right?

Did you also know that the magnetic components they are made from a PURE EVIL and a whole aspect of science itself?? 

I have learned a LOT since I had to put this project aside and the odds of me successfully finishing it have gone WAY UP since I paused work on it.
