Arduino room automation

A system, which allows me to read data like
temperature on my smartphone,
and control stuff like lights, heating and so on

The whole system will be based on a Arduino Mega. To comunicate with a smartphone I will use an bluetooth module and maybe a Raspberry Pi to connect it via W-Lan. Also It will contain an LCD-Display to display data directly.

Just a small update, I attached the whole light switch mechanism, and it works the way I want it to :-) ,

next I will add the bluetooth module so I can control it using a smartphone. Later the electronics will

be placed inside my wardrobe which is next to the  door, but first I need a new place to store my socks ;-) .

First thing I want do do is to control the light switch. Because I don't want to mess around with

230 volts, I will use an servo to operate the light switch mechanically. I

put the whole thing into an

aluminium box so it doesn't look that messy ;-). Also I added two buttons, one to turn on the lights, and one

because I want to add an motion sensor later so I can activate it using the second button.

Nice home automation project and very well done, I like the servo light switch idea! If you plan to add temperature control, you might want to check out the servo controlled heater valve from my BASH project:
