I wanted to be able to put my phone onto a car cradle without having to try and plug in the USB cord. Luckily my Nexus 5 phone has qi wireless charging. So I got an idea to combine them. You can see in the pictures it is a very ugly hack job, but actually it looks ok in real life and it works well. Now I can just put the phone on the cradle without taking it's case off, and it instantly starts to charge.

I also added a 12v to 5v stepper from the dash wiring which powers on with ON ignition of the hilux.
