Description

After a couple of years of having my home networking equipment just stacked in a corner somewhere, I decided to clean it up in both a visual and technically helpful way. The way it was made for a hodgepodge of wires, devices tucked away and hidden who knows where, the modem and router aggressively sharing waste heat to see who's life would be shorted more, and a cable modem tilted at a mild but annoying angle at the whim of the heavy coaxial cable.

So the project developed with he following goals: Clean up the wires, but also try to separate power source cables from data cables to minimize interference. Put everything in one spot (this turned out to be awesome for portability as well!) Try to keep everything from sharing heat. Make sure everything is solidly anchored down! Oh, and be cheap or free to do.

Details

Things to do:

Replace clear packing tape with a more permanent solution, but one that keeps it looking nice too
- Probably using Self-adhesive Nylon Cable Tie Mounts
Add second strap mounts to remaining devices
- Like is done with the external harddrive enclosure
