A project log for Distance Analyzer 3000

Measuring device housed in an Altoids tin. Uses a rotary encoder with a wheel to estimate distance and display measurements on an LCD.

Well I've got about an hour an half left and so far I've managed to get the screen + trinket + battery working untethered. Now I only have to work the kinks out of my code. Because of the time crunch and lack of materials right now I have no power switch and there might be a tactile button floating around outside that changes units hopefully.

I hate to be the messenger, but as a fellow Midwesterner I feel you deserve the courtesy: The contest ended last night.

The deadline was 12 AM, 1-3-15, which was last night; not tonight. 12 AM is the beginning of a day so when a clock ticks from 11:59 to 12:00, the next day has commenced.

This can be confirmed through this post where they indicate that the contest has ended on the last paragraph:

Simple mistake and maybe they'll look past it, but just so you're not surprised when the contest winners are announced...
