If they are very new accounts following your profile, they may not appear right away. But I just tested following your profile on another older account and it worked.
Yes they should be filtered out, if you see any just report them or post here so someone can take care of it. I seem to gave cleared up most of them for now.
Oh thank you. Way better. Finally I found the "report" functionality for the project, so next time I'm gonna use it to help clearing out this crap.
Trying to add a new Page. When uploading an image, it fails with Unkown error (with that spelling mistake). Nothing special about the JPG image, only about 50kB. Sounds like the same problem as below.
I'm back to not being able to upload pictures in logs, but now also the file upoad doesn't work anymore, so I can't work around it this time.
Hey so we are running some new hardware and from my point of view it looks like one of the servers might be misbehaving, but I have Operations checking on this.
I created a profile yesterday and I'm unable to upload a profile picture. Maybe this is a similar issue.
Hi, there is an issue with SSL certificates on dev.hackaday.io (Error: unable to get local issuer certificate when trying to log in), is it possible that they are outdated? (i did update my list of trusted certificates locally) Looking at the comments in the API support page I m not the only one experiencing this.
Yep sorry we need to make some changes to get the dev api working again, stay tuned.
Thanks for looking into it! But the api itself seems to work, right? (with empty token i get a valid json 400 response) Would it be possible in the mean time to get an API key by email/PM ? And maybe also the content of the API info page?
Surely letting newly minted accounts post unlimited pages is asking to be spammed. Bona fide hackers don't need to post that heavily. How about implementing user quotas and rate limiting?
Agreed, example being OSHWlab.Hawaii who has spammed me.
The spam has been heavier recently and we have been focused on some hardware upgrades. There is another release planned first, then we will be able to implement something for new accounts and pages.
Spam bots are flooding the Global Feed right now and eating up your hardware power.
I'm unable to add files to my project. When I click "Add File," an empty page opens up.
Hey can you give Hackaday.io a good refresh in your browser and try this again.
I cannot edit project log pages with normal editing menu. It give me only small editing box with no additional function.
Hey can you give Hackaday.io a good refresh in your browser and try this again.
Thanks, Richard. I confirmed the editor is back online. It seems the editor is updated now.
I notice that 'show more tag' is missing both in editor and contents. Can I insert the tag manually ?
I'll look into it, atm I'm seeing the 'insert read more tag'
In html mode it adds:
"<div class="read-more-tag">---------- more ----------</div>"
My gallery looks like this atm
https://cdn.hackaday.io/files/1978038462803552/Screenshot%202024-10-13%20at%2023.34.49.png
And I can't upload images to projects in the "Edit Project" section or in a log, it throws an error with above picture and this. one https://cdn.hackaday.io/files/1978038462803552/IMG_20241013_232937.jpg
Only the files section worked for it and I'm linking to the files instead in the logs.
Hey can you give Hackaday.io a good refresh in your browser and try this again.
done - looks the same to me. Chrome Version 129.0.6668.91 (Official Build) (arm64)
hope you meant the gallery, I assume the upload is the 500 error in disguise that I see so often.

Oh got it, yes it looks like fotorama updated/broke.
Archive.org have been attacked and went offline to prevent further damage.
They are a massive online library and some publishing houses are taking them to court to prevent them operating as usual. Maybe they are behind it, or a hostile power wanted to use them as target practice for internet warfare.
Hackaday.io is relatively small, but has it got enough security measures in place?
Hackaday.io undergoes regular penetration testing for vulnerabilities.
Great, thanks. I realised that I had no way to replace most of the work I put in my projects, unlike much of archive.org that could be scanned again.

:)
Having an issue editing files on my projects - I cannot edit or upload my files with the normal editing tool.
Hey can you give Hackaday.io a good refresh in your browser and try this again.
We are aware of a CDN images issue affecting some images loading, and also uploads.
I know your software boffins have been plugging injection vulnerabilities in your website, but here's something they missed. When the subtitle for a project contains an apostrophe, the website converts it to the HTML entity ' but this is not rendered correctly when the project is viewed. For an example, see #Ancient 12 hour display where the subtitle is shown as "Old LEDs don't die, they just shine away"
I am getting personal messages, but there is no a content in. Instead of the message's text there is the "loading bar" (circle) and no animation. All what I can se the quantity of messages. My browser is the most recent firefox.
Does anyone know how to change the language of this website? I can't find a "Language" option anywhere that might exist.
When I tried to upload a tarball to hackaday.io I got the following error message: "An error occurred uploading zeptoforth-1.8.0.1.tar.gz. This file type may currently be unsupported."
